Excerpt
He was a hard-looking man. Enormous
and bulky, he reminded her of a bull. His upper body was thick with muscle and
riddled with vicious scars. But none so nasty as the one on his face. The skin
around it was so tight and puckered, it pulled at the corner of his eye, giving
him the appearance of a monster right out of a child’s nightmare. Wulf said he
was gentle, but he certainly did not look it.
He looked like the demon his kind
were reputed to be.
